Refund policy
Change of mind
If you change your mind about your purchase, you have 30 days from the date you receive your jewellery to notify us in writing that you wish to return it (except for Exceptions below). You then have a further 14 days to send the item back to us in its original, unworn condition and packaging. We will refund you in full, including standard delivery costs, within 14 days of receiving the returned item.
Return postage costs are your responsibility unless the item is faulty or not as described.
To start a return, you can contact us at hello@hopelessromanticsociety.co or using the chat button on the website. We will provide you with a return address and instructions for posting.
If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
For hygiene reasons, we cannot re-sell pierced earrings or other pierced jewellery. For this reason, earrings and other pierced jewellery can only be returned in exchange for store credit, unless the item is faulty in which case a full refund will be given. Personalised, engraved, or custom-made items cannot be returned unless faulty. The other terms laid out in this page still apply in such cases. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Faulty goods
If your jewellery is faulty, damaged, or not as described, you have 30 days from receipt to return it for a full refund, repair, or replacement. We will cover the cost of return postage for faulty items.
Refunds for faulty goods will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Exchanges
If you want to exchange your product after you have purchased it, the fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 14 days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
